A word about holds and transfers from other libraries:

2/20/2018 (updated)  From BCCLS HQ:  Starting Mon 2/26, patrons may have up to 3 requests at a time.  If a patron already has more than 3 requests, they will not be automatically cancelled, but the patron will not be able to place any new requests until their current requests have been reduced to less than 3.  Patrons may choose to cancel requests that they no longer need or want in order to place new requests.

2/20/2018 (updated).  We are slowing moving toward a return to full service.  Outstanding holds are now being filled.  While these oldest requests are being filled, BCCLS will monitor the performance of the delivery service.  If everything looks okay by Fri 2/23, the system will be reopened for new requests, but possibly on a limited basis.

2/8/2018 (updated). BCCLS holds and transfers will remain suspended until the number of items in transit is brought under control by the delivery vendor.  The agency that manages delivery service for all NJ public libraries is in the process of finding a new courier, following the legally mandated bid process.  We hope holds and transfers are enabled in the 2nd half of February.  BCCLS is also evaluating short-term solutions to the delivery problem on a local level, including the retrieval of items at the courier's sorting facility.  Additional updates will be posted as news warrants.  The MFPL now has a "floating collection" of items that belong to other BCCLS libraries, which expands our on-site holdings for now.  All of us at the MFPL are looking forward to a return to full service and thank you, again, for your patience.

1/25/2018 (updated).  Due to the ongoing problem with statewide delivery, BCCLS is temporarily suspending holds and transfers between libraries.  The situation will be reevaluated on 2/8 and this feature will be reactivated if the delivery service is all caught up.  We are truly sorry for the inconvenience.

1/19/2018 (updated). Thank you for your continued patience as the state switches library delivery vendors.  At this time, all libraries, including Millburn, are waiting for delivery service to return to full capacity.  Until delivery service returns to normal, the Millburn Library is unable to transfer items in and out as quickly as usual.  We are all frustrated by this inconvenience and hope that things return to normal in a few more days.  In the meantime, please remember that your Millburn Library card is accepted in all BCCLS libraries*, so if you’re unable to wait for an item to be shipped here, you have the option of driving to that other BCCLS library to get your desired item(s) in person.  Nearby BCCLS libraries include Livingston, Maplewood, West Orange and Montclair. The full list of BCCLS libraries is here.  Finally, any holds that have been placed will be filled as soon as possible.  Thanks again for your patience and understanding.

* M-SH resident cardholders only. Does not include courtesy or pay cards.
