Museum Passes During Covid-19

At this time, many of the museums that we partner with are closed due to the pandemic.  Because of this, we have put our pass program on hold. 

If you have an existing museum pass reservation that comes up during our closure, you will get an automatic reminder e-mail from our museum pass management system a couple of days before your scheduled visit.  Please reply to that message so that we can retroactively cancel your reservation when we are back on site.  You will not be penalized for a "no show" during this response to Covid-19, but you must reply to that reminder e-mail when it is sent.

Museum Passes

The Millburn Free Public Library is pleased to offer museum passes to Millburn Library cardholders in good standing.  Passes are available to residents and paid subscribers only.  Courtesy cards and other BCCLS library cards are not eligible.

Note that each museum has its own policies regarding admission. 

 

The Millburn Library has no control over a museum's operating hours or special circumstances that might result in unscheduled changes. Please verify that a museum will be open on the day you select to visit.  

 

The number of passes that can be issued in a day is limited, according to each museum. 

 

Passes may be checked out to adults only (age 18+) whose card is in good standing.   Good standing means that the account is not expired and there are no overdues or unpaid fees, fines or lost items in excess of $9.99. 

 

Patrons may reserve up to one pass on a given day. 

 

Most museums require you to present a pass that you will borrow from the Millburn Library.  Others allow you to print a pass through the reservation website.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: 

 

You must bring your library card or driver's license with you to the adult reference desk to check out your reserved museum pass. 

 

Passes are checked out & checked in at the adult reference desk.  Come in after 3:00 p.m. the day before your reservation to pick up your pass.  Then use the pass on your reserved date.  Passes must be returned IN PERSON to the adult reference desk in the library before 2:00 p.m. on the next open day after your reservation day. Passes may not be returned in the book return. 

 

(Printed passes that you generate yourself from the reservation website are "one time use" and do not have to be returned to the library). 

 

A word about no-shows...  Please do not break your pass reservations.  When you reserve a pass that you do not pick up, you may be denying someone else a chance to use the pass that day.  After two no-shows, your account will be barred from this service for 90 days. 

 

Late returns (after 2:00 p.m.) will be charged a late fee of $25.00 per day, or any part thereof.  Please return your pass on time... the next user depends on your timely return.  After two late returns, in addition to a fine, your account will be barred from this service for 90 days. 

 

Lost passes will be billed at full replacement value, as determined by the museum.
