If you are looking to volunteer, teens may find information here. The Friends of the Library also appreciate volunteer help, especially with the annual book-sale fundraiser.
The Library accepts book donations once a year in anticipation of the Friends of the Millburn Library‘s annual book sale. Clean, gently-worn (only) donations may be brought into the library during open hours solely during this drop-off period. Please, no textbooks, encyclopedias, magazines, or out-of-date items.
Thank you for your tremendous response to the 2023 book sale! We will begin collecting books again next year for the 2024 book sale. An announcement will be made next spring.
Like many public libraries, the MFPL typically does not accept donations of materials for the circulating collection. If you are looking to donate your books, we suggest the following resources:
Private support for public libraries has never been more important. Your direct support of the Millburn Free Public Library allows us to uphold the level of service you expect in a facility that is both comfortable and well-maintained. Unrestricted gifts to the Library are the easiest & most helpful way to contribute. Gifts can be made to commemorate a special event, such as a birthday, a graduation, a holiday, an anniversary, or as a memorial in someone’s honor.
Monetary Donations to the Library are tax-deductible within the limits of the law. The Millburn Free Public Library is a 170(c)(1) government entity and our tax ID is 22-6002083. All monetary donations are acknowledged with a thank you letter from the Director, which you should keep for your tax records.
If your donation is in honor of a special event, or in memory of a loved one, please be sure to include that.
To make a donation, please drop off your check at the Circulation Desk in the Front Lobby, or mail it to:
