Storm Ida Recovery

Listed below are resources for local residents and/or businesses affected by Tropical Storm Ida.

  • Essex County residents have been officially added to the FEMA disaster declaration list. Apply for aid at www.disasterassistance.gov/.
    • Public computers, Wi-Fi, printers & scanners are all available at the Library for individuals completing FEMA filings. Residents can also get assistance at Town Hall.
    • You may need the following items to complete filing registration:
      • Social Security Number (SSN) OR the SSN of a minor child in the household who is a U.S. citizen, Non-Citizen National or Qualified Alien.
      • Annual Household Income
      • Contact information (phone number, mailing address, damaged home address & email address).
      • Insurance information (coverage, insurance company name)
      • Bank account information (if eligible to receive financial assistance, the money can be deposited into your account)
    • If you are a disaster survivor, you may qualify for federal assistance:
      • If you are applying for both home & business disaster assistance, complete one registration to cover both.
      • If you are applying for multiple disasters, you will need to complete a registration for each disaster.
    • If you encounter difficulty completing your filing, you can get further assistance:

Millburn Library Donation Center

UPDATE: The Donation Center will be moving to the Community Congregational Church as of Saturday, October 2 at 8:00 a.m. (200 Hartshorn Drive, Short Hills).

The collection period for the Donation Center in the auditorium of the Millburn Library is now closed, thank you to all donors.

Any affected residents that wish to privately view & collect items from the Donation Center can sign up for a time-slot here.
